About Us
Limbic Resources, Inc. (LR) both private outpatient mental health practices owned and operated by Limbic Resources, Inc. LR was founded by Arthur Bence, LICSW a licensed clinical social worker and by Dr. Gerald Elovitz, a clinical neurospsychologist over ten years ago. LR offers a broad array of mental health services, with two primary clinical sites doing business as: Lewis Bay Associates in Hyannis, MA and Bourne Pond Associates in Buzzard’s Bay, MA.
Art is clinical director for general mental health services managed under the LR umbrella. The Memory & Attention Center is a LR subspecialty practice managed by Jerry that operates out of both LR’s locations. It works in close cooperation with the psychiatry, counseling, occupational therapy and substance-abuse services provided by LR. This gives us the capacity to evaluate, treat and consult on a wide range of patients with neurocognitive, emotional and behavioral problems, with special attention to the seniors on Cape Cod & the Islands and their families.
Much of the evaluation work done by the Memory & Attention Center has been home-based over the years; visiting homes and all the assisted living facilities on Cape and the Islands. Off-Cape, we have also managed the pre-employment psychological testing of all new hires for the Mass. Dept. of Corrections (DOC) and Dept. of Youth Services (DYS) for many years.
Jerry’s separate company (Dr. Gerald Elovitz & TestSTAT, PC) publishes another website, AgeSure.com, dedicated to explaining geriatric neurocognitive disorders and prevention strategies.

As a clinical social worker, Art has provided direct mental health services to folks of all ages in various clinical settings for close to 40 years. His primary work has been in managing mental health services provided by DPH licensed mental health clinics on the Cape and in SE Massachusetts. He now manages our two locations: Lewis Bay Associates and
Bourne Pond Associates. Through these two sites LR offers a range of services to children, adolescents, adults, seniors, families, as well as consultation to businesses throughout SE Massachusetts. As we accept Medicare and most forms of Medicaid (MassHealth) this requires much oversight and attention to regulations, which Art provides.
Jerry’s background is in developmental psychology with specializations in learning, memory and language and psycho-emotional development across the life span. He came to Cape Cod in the early 1970s where he worked as a pediatric neuropsychologist seeing special needs children on the Cape for 20 years. He then re-specialized in geropsychology over 1994–1998 through Columbia Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL where he helped establish their demonstration dementia evaluation program for the world-wide Columbia/HCA hospital system. He has, also, been on staff at seven geropsychiatric inpatient units across SE Mass, and has seen thousands of patients on the Cape & Islands over the past 40 years. He has consulted for decades with the Protective Services Caseworkers with Elder Services of Cape Cod & the Islands, providing most of their in-home capacity evaluations for seniors reported to the agency for self-neglect, risk or abuse.
